How To Feel More Comfortable Getting A Wax

Hello lovelies! 😍 It is Trisha again, and I’ll keep it real with you: Waxing isn’t always the most pleasant experience for everyone. When you’re first beginning to wax,  it might feel awkward or uncomfortable to “BARE IT ALL.” The good news is that your wax specialist wants to help make you feel as comfortable as possible! 🤗  Waxing is also going to give you ultimate smoothness and longer lasting results. You’ll be saying sayonara! to your razor in no time.

This week, I want to help put your mind at ease and share some tips and reminders that might help you to feel more relaxed during your wax appointment ☺️ 

1. Remember: We have seen it all!

Literally.

Seen.

EVERYTHING. 

This is not our first rodeo, my loves! 🤠  Scars, cellulite, acne, all types of body hair, ingrowns, rashes, stretch marks, eczema…it’s totally normal! Who the heck has perfect skin?! No one! All different skin types and bodies walk through our doors every day. 

2. Wear something you feel comfortable in. 

You’re definitely not going to want to wear your tightest skinny jeans or any fussy lingerie. Anything tight-fitting; like yoga pants, can actually rub those pesky raw spots! Ouch! Opt for loose clothing like sweatpants and comfy underwear like boy shorts or briefs 😘

3. Avoid Alcohol and Coffee

As tempting as it is to reach for a glass of wine to calm your nerves (I feel youuuuu)- try to resist and try good ol’ h2O instead! When you consume alcohol or caffeine, your body becomes more acidic, which can increase your skin's sensitivity (no thank you!). Caffeine can also increase your heart rate and anxiety. That anxiety and adrenaline can make it very hard to relax and cause muscle tension. Tense muscles = a more painful waxing experience 🥲

4. Watch TV

We have a television in each of our wax rooms! Tune into your favourite comfort show and momentarily get your mind off the waxing!

5. Talk to your Wax Specialist!

We are here to answer any questions you might have during the process. If you’re feeling anxious you can let us know and we will do  everything we can to put your mind at ease!
